Industry Education

Why is it important to attend industry education events?

That was the question that Kirby Hasseman asked me when he interviewed me for his Delivering Marketing Joy podcast.

My answer?

For me, it’s all about relationships. In our industry, so much of my daily work life revolves around helping others and seeking help.

The people I meet and reconnect with at industry events are the folks I rely on for the rest of the year.

For other distributors I meet, it’s sharing best practices, looking for advice on product sourcing, and talking about what’s really involved in running a modern promotional products business (nod to commonsku)

For suppliers I meet at these events, it’s knowing who to call to help with project research, get advice on a client project, or call in a pricing or production-related favor.

Lord knows we all need more favors these days!

And on top of the relationships, the educational content at these events is really top-notch.

At every single event, 2-3 nuggets of information make the whole event worth it.

I’m continually impressed with the quality of individuals in our industry and am so proud to be a part of it!
