At a recent industry business-building-bootcamp in Brooklyn (say that 10x fast!) I learned a lot from Dan Pantano, Jonathan Isaacson, David Nicholson, and Catherine Graham.

2️⃣ Retail brands are big. Clients are spending more dollars on higher-priced products in search of quality co-branding opportunities.

3️⃣ Merch buyers today want to understand the story behind the brands they buy to represent THEIR brand.

4️⃣ Technology. Technology. Technology. Some keys to growth. Electronic PO’s for frictionless order processing, robots picking products.

5️⃣ Goal: SKU reduction. One panelist focuses on deep inventory of core skus and has reduced sku counts from 105k to 80k (includes colors, sizes).
