2021 Product of the Year: Food Gifts

2021 Product of the Year

Companies hungry to connect with clients and employees turned to food during the pandemic, and sales have been cooking ever since.

The Advertising Specialty Institute recently named food gifts its 2021 Product of the Year.

"Food gifts were an incredibly important part of so many people's lives over the last two years, providing instant comfort and an 'experience in a box,'" said C.J. Mittica, Editor-in-Chief of ASI Media. "I always love receiving food gifts, and there are millions of others who feel the same way. It never fails to brighten up someone's day."

For more on ASI Media's Product of the Year, check out a recent story by Sara Lavenduski, executive editor for digital content at ASI. The story details the many ways companies hungry to connect with clients and employees turned to food gifts, helping sales in a challenged economy.

Gotta admit that with all the supply chain issues this year, I thought the product of the year was going to be “whatever is in stock!” 🤣

But I have to agree with ASI's pick. Companies hungry to connect with clients and employees turned to food during the pandemic and sales have been cooking ever since.

Here are some random food gift tidbits:

  1. 62% of businesses give food gifts during the holidays

  2. A food gift is like a party in a box; it is celebrated and appreciated and leaves a memory

  3. Food touches on ALL of the senses

  4. Food gifts promote sharing (as well as social media sharing helping to spread your brand and message)

  5. While people do share food, our home delivery of food gifts works pretty darn well to help you avoid sharing yum with your office mates!
