Tell me your Personal Brand Story

I love Dad jokes.

In fact, they have become part of my personal brand story. Several times a week people email, text or tell me a dad joke they saw/heard!

Building a personal brand takes time and if done right should accurately reflect your likes and interests. This allows you to tell your own story rather than it being told for you by default.

EXAMPLE:

Jay Busselle has branded himself as a lover of all things tacos (“Tacos make everything better”) -- and as a result has gotten great traction for his Linkedin social selling system.

Jay even created a Taco Tuesday podcast 🌮

The goal of any brand is to own top-of-mind awareness.

When I say ‘personal computer’ what company comes to mind?
Luxury car?
Online shopping site?
Search engine?

Your answers likely match mine.

And those of others around you right now. Try asking!

HELP:
In a short and sweet article I discovered, Michael Page, founder of PageGroup outlines “How to build a brand called ‘you’.”

“The…flourish of social networking sites has made it essential for any professional with an (online) presence to mold and manage their personal brand.”

And who can forget one of my fave clients, Valerie Nifora who has a wonderfully authentic personal brand of her own and moonlights as a personal branding coach.

Whether you tell dad jokes or just like tacos (a lot!) finding your personal brand voice will go a long way towards building longstanding relationships both online and offline.
