Why Pickleball and Branded Merch are the same

Do you play pickleball?
Do you k
now someone who does?
Does it feel like everyone around you is talking about Pickleball?

Likely, your answer is YES to one of these questions.

I love playing Pickleball ALMOST as much as I love branded merch. Come to think of it, they DO have some similarities, like:

✅ Appropriate for all ages and skill levels

🥒Pickleball: Because it's easy on the joints & similar to well-known games (tennis, badminton, ping-pong) it's accessible for most people.

Simple enough for beginners, but experienced players compete against each other in fast-paced competitive games that can bring out your inner John McEnroe (minus the expletives!).

👕Branded Merch: At Printable, we work on simple projects, such as branding a single item to be handed out at a trade show.

We also work on more advanced campaigns which involve partnering with our clients to develop a pre-mailer to event attendees that are tied to an interactive display when they arrive at the event.

✅ Highly contagious

🥒Pickleball: Spreading quickly! No longer a “new” sport or referred to as “up and coming”. People talk about it and invite their friends or join their local courts to make new ones.

👕Branded Merch: When someone receives a logoed gift, there’s a pretty good chance they will take to social media to show off what they received.

Check your Instagram or Facebook feeds and play “I Spy” with branded merch. It’s everywhere!

✅ Great Bang for your Buck

🥒 Pickleball: An inexpensive way to add exercise to your routine. A decent paddle is less than $30, and a six-pack of balls is about $10. No elaborate equipment is required, just a good pair of athletic shoes.

👕Branded Merch: In its annual Global Ad Impressions Study, Advertising Specialty Institute found that branded merch delivers crazy, amazing advertiser recall among 85% of the 50k consumers surveyed, with recall highest for logoed apparel.

The study proves branded merch offers a strong rate of return on investment (ROI), with the cost per impression (CPI) as low as 1/10 of one cent.

As I said, I love branded merch. I also love playing Pickleball!

If you need help with an upcoming branding project (or find yourself in Chicago and want to hit around!), I’m happy to oblige 😊
