“Relationship Building is the foundation of the things we do.”
Our VP Mitch Silver was interviewed on a podcast a while back. He talked about the secrets of his success in sales, and his words of wisdom still hold true today!
Pouches for Tech Accessories and Dare I say, Travel?
Travel is ready to make a comeback and keeping PPE related items, cleaners and sanitizers together and organized is going to be a priority.
A T-Shirt, a Stranger, and a Connection
Yesterday, while leaving work, I passed by someone wearing a Guster T-shirt.
How You Market Your Business
Hey, Marketers…Recently I came across these two signs in local business windows.
The candle studio one is a head-scratcher.
Naming your business “The World’s Best” is far too superlative, but “Above Average”?
I think you can aim a little higher 🚀
Finding the RIGHT Merch!
Last year I was interviewed by Promotional Products Business (PPB) Magazine.
In that article I talked about how branded merch is uniquely valuable in that it creates an unrivaled level of excitement for those on the receiving end (and even a thank you -- take that digital advertising!)
It’s Not Your Only Job!
For most of the clients we work with, ordering branded merch is not their only job. But when they call on us to imprint a product to represent their brand, it has to be right. The merch has to be delivered on time.
Memory Makers!
Attention Marketers: Branded merchs are not just things. They are memory makers. We’ve all heard the names: Promotional Products Swag Branded Merch But what about Memory Makers?
Lagniappe
Ever heard of the word “lagniappe”?
I first came across it while listening to a “book on tape” about providing great customer service.
The definition is simple: A lagniappe is something given as a bonus or extra gift.
What started as an old Louisiana tradition, especially in the French Quarter of New Orleans, the concept has spread internationally.
3 TIPS for Remote Teams
Remote workers can feel disconnected and alone. Incorporating merch in your team-building efforts brings a physical element into a digital relationship.
Here are my top 3 tips for keeping remote teams engaged with branded merch
Know Your Brand Vibe
All day, every day I work with my clients on selecting branded merch. My job is to help them find a memorable, functional (and stealable) product that best tells their brand story! But the brand story is just part of the equation. Another important part is the brand VIBE.
Knowing the “WHO?”
Do you know your client’s "who"?
“I’m looking to spend $5 per item and need about 500 of something. What ideas do you have for me?”
Does this directive sound familiar?
Sure, all of us in the merch space could probably spout off a dozen product ideas to this client request.
But if you don’t ask (at least) one more question, you are doing your client a disservice.
Corporate Responsibility
Corporate social & environmental responsibility is changing business for the long term – and for the better.
With the help from our partners at PCNA - Bridget Kress, Erika DeWolf, Emily Douglas, Rick French we’re proud to offer our clients branded merchandise they can feel good about.
HR Sensei!
Hey, HR managers: Branded merch can be part of the solution to the 3 “R’s” that keep you up at night:
👉🏻Recruitment of talent
👉🏻Retention of employees
👉🏻Rewarding and appreciating existing team members
Strong Brand Identity
When we first begin branded merch work with our clients, we ask them to see their website, logo, and brand guidelines.
Crazy, but only about 10% of them have brand guidelines and a clear identity and “vibe” for their brand!
“I appreciate you!”
"Culture eats strategy for breakfast." – Peter Drucker
Being part of the leadership team at Printable, I have found this to be very true, as culture is the secret sauce that helps team members feel a sense of belonging.
Now more than ever, workers (especially the remote ones!) want to feel a sense of belonging in their workplace.
Never Cut Down on Branded Merch!
Hey, marketers….Recession in 2023? Umm…Maybe?
When there's an economic downturn, CEOs look to cut costs.
And often, as budgets are tightening and there is a cost-cutting discussion, branded merch may be on the chopping block.
Industry Education
Why is it important to attend industry education events?
That was the question that Kirby Hasseman asked me when he interviewed me for his Delivering Marketing Joy podcast.
My answer?
For me, it’s all about relationships. In our industry, so much of my daily work life revolves around helping others and seeking help.
Thank goodness for Human Resources Teams!
Hey, HR Pros: Show me the company swag you sent out this year!
Here's why I'm curious: I've seen a big shift in my client base during the past year.
I used to work on branded-merchandise projects with marketers, sales managers/admins, event planners, and account execs.
