A Night of Culture and Entertainment
A few weeks ago I went to see a string quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) play the music of Taylor Swift.

Boomerang Effect!
I’ve never actually thrown a boomerang before and managed to bring it back!
Regardless, a boomerang is a good metaphor for employees coming back to your organization after they have left to “explore other options”.

Merch Trends To Know from the ASI Show
The Printable team recently spent a week at the ASI Show in Chicago, looking for the mid-year trends in the promo merch space. After walking tens of miles, visiting hundreds of suppliers, and scoping out thousands of products, here’s an overview of what we found:

4th of JULY
My son and I got to see these fireworks in Washington D.C. on the National Mall on July 4th
Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park
If only the whole world was as nice as the people you meet on a hiking trail…I recently went hiking with one of my oldest friends Bob Eisendrath and our wives in Rocky Mountain National Park.

New Hire Welcome Kits
When you’re sending a welcome kit to a remote employee, the right merch can send a very powerful message.
Products in the kit should be on-brand for your organization AND things your new team member will be excited to receive (and post about!)

A Day in a Life of a Glass Water Bottle
Belonging to someone who lives in the desert during summer is a full-time job, but at least it looks good while doing it!

Pins and Patches
Pins and patches are "having a moment" as they say!

Modern Recognition Programs
Recognition programs used to be 100% paperweights, plaques, watches, and a clock if you stayed until you retired. Things are a little different now!
3 Tips for Engaging Remote Teams with Branded Merch
Here are my top 3 tips for keeping remote teams engaged with branded merch.

Meet Tim.
There are few places on Earth where you can glimpse one of the remaining Big Tuskers. The conservancy we were in is home to 13,000 elephants and only 20 are Big Tuskers! The lives of these elephants are fraught with danger. They are preyed on constantly by poachers due to the astronomical value of just one of their tusks: a single tusk from a Big Tusker is worth around $25,000 – more once it has been carved.
Charcuterie Food Gifts are Having A Moment
I've been helping clients tell their brand stories and build emotional brand connections for 25 years now. But in all those years, I've never seen the popularity of savory food gifts accented with custom-etched cutting boards as high as it is right now.
Details Matter at Magic Kingdom
My big business takeaway? Details matter. For example, this is a picture of the cement path in the line leading into Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid. Disney could have easily just created a smooth winding pavement.
Who else is a fan of RUSH?
Growing up I was a huge fan of the Canadian-progressive-rock trio, Rush Oh, the guitars, the synthesizers, the lyrics, the drums (RIP, Neal Peart)!
Have you heard of College-Decision Bed Decorating Parties?
Have you heard of College-Decision Bed Decorating Parties? It’s the latest way to celebrate your teen’s college choice.
In short, bed decorating is a display of college gear/colors to celebrate a college commitment, usually decked out on a teen’s bed.

Why Pickleball and Branded Merch are the same
Do you play pickleball?
Do you know someone who does?
Does it feel like everyone around you is talking about Pickleball?
Likely, your answer is YES to one of these questions.
One of these things is not like the other…
Can you spot which item in each picture was placed using augmented reality?

Screenless Communication in 2022
Back in December, while the Printable team was gathered in Chicago, we went to see The Office Experience exhibit, where the world of the TV Show, The Office comes to life.
Dwight's computer screen was staged like the episode where Jim tries to convince Dwight that the Dunder Mifflin server is auto messaging Dwight:
“I think I am programmed to be your enemy. I think it is my job to destroy you when it comes to selling paper”.
Dwight replies: “How do I know this isn’t Jim”?

The Resurrection of QR Codes
I don’t know about you, but I thought QR codes died a few years ago. Because you needed a special app to scan the codes, they were clunky to navigate causing friction-filled interactions.
But along came the pandemic and fueled by a desire for touchless transactions, QR codes were resurrected from the dead.
